The K-TERM72 beacon transmitter is used for indoor location determination. Each beacon has a unique ID and the power can be adjusted from 50 centimeters range to approximately 25 meters range. The battery life is about 2 years and depends on the transmission power.
If a Motorola DP4000 series walkie-talkie with beacon receiver comes in the area of the beacon, it will take over the unique ID. After pressing the emergency button, the beacon ID will be sent to the alarm server. If desired, this information can also be sent to other radios in the network.
