Beepers. I prefer to call them "alarm receivers" these days.
They still go out every day to customers who use them for alarms that should absolutely not be missed. This includes fire departments, police services, forensic investigation, water boards, company fire brigade, accident services and home care.
The alarm receivers are also frequently used for simple applications where a telephone is 'too much'. Think of machine malfunctions, door openings, doorbells and aggression reports.
The big advantage of alarm receiver is that it always works. You are not dependent on external infrastructure. The simplicity makes the product versatile.
We expect a lot from the alarm receivers for the coming years. The first alarm receivers with IoT applications are already available. Think of man-down alarms and response after alarms. So we will continue for a while!
