The IJB Group is the specialist in the field of foundations. From probing, design to the delivery and installation of prefab piles and prefab foundation elements. “At our production location (approx. 8 ha.) In Lemmer, we used to alarm by means of an analogue paging system. At a certain point this system was no longer supported, so we had to look for another system. Other, low frequency, alarm systems are not usable on our site due to malfunctions due to the presence of a lot of reinforcing steel and high buildings, ”says Gerrit Nota, head of emergency response team of the IJB Group.
“We came into contact with Joost Eerland of Firecom, who did see opportunities for improvement”. Eerland made a test set-up at the company in Lemmer. He installed the Firecom alarm system with central dispatching on a stand-alone computer. The system also uses availability, so that the head of emergency response team can see which emergency response team members are available. After extensive testing, we came to the conclusion that this system is extremely useful in the situation of the IJB Group. After which the IJB Group proceeded to purchase the system and the accompanying software. After that, a group of 24 BHVs / first aiders from the IJB Group received a Birdy WP alarm receiver. “The pagers can now go out,” says Nota.
“From now on we can alert our emergency response team within seconds with the push of a button”. A part or the entire shift can be 'paged' via the software with a shortcut. Normally 6 people are alerted per deployment. Two emergency response officers and two first aiders must be on site within 3 minutes. “Thanks to Firecom that always works fine!”.
