Sapa Profiles in Drunen extrudes aluminum profiles and processed semi-finished products. This varies from parts for the electronics and automotive industry to profiles for helicopters and trailers. The company is a subsidiary of the Sapa Group, the largest aluminum processing company in the world. It supplies products for trains, aircraft, ships and cars, offshore, horticulture and industry, among others. 200 people work at Sapa Profiles in Drunen. With so many employees in the workplace, a well-functioning company emergency response team (BHV) is of course also required.

The outdated calling system for its emergency response team members was business support manager Leon Snyleen, a thorn in the side. “That system was used without much discipline. That also had to do with the technical situation. A number of users had an attitude that it doesn't work, ”says Snoer. “If something happened in the factory halls, they had to call the internal emergency number. The security paged the EROs, who saw on their pagers in which hall help was needed. Precious seconds were lost with that.

Firecom advised us about a new emergency response alarm system. This allows the entire emergency response team to be alerted from Security. In addition, emergency buttons have been installed at critical points. When pressed, the beeper will ring directly at all emergency responders. The screens show the location of the emergency ”. The Technical Service of Sapa in Drunen received programming sets from Firecom, so that people can easily make adjustments to the system themselves. Leon Snyleen is considering equipping the Firecom system in the Harderwijk location as well. “Everyone has a mobile phone and the like, but nothing faster than good alarm receivers”.
