The main features of the redesigned CLP446e

The updated version of the CLP446e has sixteen channels. The old version of the CLP446 had eight license-free channels. It is not possible to update an existing fleet of CLP446 radios to 16 channels. However, it is possible to combine an existing CLP446 fleet with the updated version of the CLP446e on the eight channels. The new version of the CLP446e is therefore easy to combine with an existing fleet of CLP446 radios. In the unlikely event that the obsolete version needs to be replaced, it is not necessary to replace the entire fleet, but only the broken two-way radio.

Motorola has received a lot of feedback from existing users about the earphones for the CLP446, or the HKL4602. The strength of this earpiece has already been improved by the introduction of the HKLN4602B. However, practice has shown that this reinforcement was not yet enough, so Motorola has decided to develop a new connector. This new connector is more sturdy than the old connector and easy to attach to the CLP446e radio. This also makes it easier to replace the earpieces.

By strengthening the ears it is did not more possible to use old earphones on the CLP446e. Motorola has continued to replace the connector to meet customer needs to make it more suitable for intensive use and louder sound. Also the bluetooth earphones of the old CLP446 can no longer be used in combination with the new CLP446e. The CLP446e no longer has a Bluetooth function, so Bluetooth earphones can no longer be used. On the other hand, it is still possible to use the CLP446's single charger and six-compartment charger for the new CLP446e radio as these chargers have not been modified.

Finally, Motorola has added a mute (mute) function to the CLP446e radio. With this function it is possible to give certain radios only the possibility to receive. This is, for example, extremely easy if the ears are used for a tour. In this case it is not practical if all users also have the option to send. This prevents noise and confusion.
