What is it?

A broadcasting license is a license that must be applied for at the Telecom Agency if you are going to use walkie-talkies that will work at a higher transmission power. You can see it as written permission from the government to use the walkie-talkies on a certain frequency.

How do I request it?

The broadcasting license must be applied for at the Telecom Agency. The Telecom Agency is a Dutch government organization that regulates and monitors the use of radio frequencies in the Netherlands and is part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.

Our working method is that we always support the customer when applying for a broadcasting license. The papers for the application are prepared by Firecom, so that you only have to sign and send them.

What does it cost?

The costs of the broadcasting license are independent of the number of walkie-talkies you use. In the Netherlands it does not matter whether you will use 5 walkie-talkies or 150 walkie-talkies. The costs for the license are the same at the Telecom Agency. It is therefore not necessary to apply for a permit per walkie-talkie.

The costs of the broadcasting license can be divided up is one-off costs for the application and an annual cost for use. The permit costs approximately € 150 once and € 100 per year. If you also use a repeater or mobile radios, these costs will be higher. For an exact price for the license, please contact us or the Telecom Agency.

Who do I pay the costs for the permit?

You pay the costs of the radio license for walkie-talkies directly to the Telecom Agency and not to Firecom. Our sales specialists can assist you free of charge with the application for the permit.

How long is the permit valid?

In general, the broadcasting license from the Telecom Agency is valid for five years. After this period you will automatically receive a message whether you want to withdraw or terminate the permit.

Can I cancel or change a radio broadcasting license?

During the term of the permit, you can cancel or change the permit at any time. If the permit is canceled, you may no longer use the walkie-talkies because the written permission by the government is no longer valid.

If you purchase a new fleet of walkie-talkies, the old license must be adjusted. You can do this very easily at the Telecom Agency.

Your company has several branches in the Netherlands?

If your company has several branches in the Netherlands, you must apply for a separate radio license for walkie-talkies for each branch from the Telecom Agency.

Your company operates throughout the country?

If you work in different places in the Netherlands because you work in construction, for example, this can be indicated on the application for the permit. Even if you are not constantly working in the same place, you can get a broadcasting permit.

Did you know that it is also possible to transfer your broadcasting license because, for example, you have transferred your existing fleet of walkie-talkies to another party. However, you must report this to the Telecom Agency.
