Unfortunately, there is a growing trend that more robberies and other forms of undesirable behavior are taking place in stores. Many shopkeepers have a feeling of insecurity. It is a frequently asked question: How can I make it safer for myself and my staff.
This is now possible with the SHOPCOM alarm system that has been specially developed for entrepreneurs in shopping areas. You can now alert all participating stores in the area at the touch of a button. At the moment there are WhatsApp Messenger groups active to alert each other, but in practice this appears not to work (or badly).
In the event of a calamity, there is no time to pick up the mobile phone and send a message and it remains to be seen whether the other participants in such a group look directly at their phone. There has been a proven need for a system that is simple (one button) to operate and has a minimal response time.
How does it work?
Every retailer in the shopping area purchases a SHOPCOM alarm system. This system is the size of a walkie-talkie and is placed at the checkout. The alarm is triggered with the pre-programmed button. When this happens, the alarm systems will beep within a radius of approximately 1000 meters and the name of the store that triggered the alarm will appear in the display. You then go to the relevant store to check with the colleague. This is often enough to avert a threatening situation.
In the event of a robbery, there are immediately more eyes and ears on the street, which increases the chance of arrest. The system also offers the possibility to communicate directly with each other so that, for example, a description or an escape route can be quickly passed on.
Each entrepreneur receives a sticker on the door indicating that the store is connected to the SHOPCOM alarm system. If the shopping area has its own security service, the security guards of this service can also be equipped with this system.
Because the security guards are alerted without the intervention of an emergency center, the response time is also greatly reduced.
The alarm system
The portable SHOPCOM alarm system is a stand-alone solution. From two to an infinite number of systems can be deployed flexibly without a server or central computer (independent multi-node network). Extra participants can easily be added by selecting an extra unit. The system has a range of approximately 1000 meters. In practice, this will usually be more than sufficient. Should there be a need for a greater range, there is the option of installing one or more repeaters. The systems are supplied programmed with the store name. This name can always be changed at a later time. The system is very easy to use and low maintenance.
The system has a battery and is standard in a charger. It also works in the event of a power failure and can be included in the event of a calamity. The system is CE marked and complies with all applicable European requirements for radio transmission equipment.
Investment in your safety
The SHOPCOM system is an affordable solution without a subscription form. However, a license must be applied for at the Telecom Agency and this license must be renewed every year. SHOPCOM will coordinate the request for you.
Often there is the possibility of upgrading the system in collaboration with a retailers' or business association and / or the municipality. If you choose this construction, the costs for the entrepreneur are even less.
Demos and trial placement
To demonstrate the operation of the system, we would be happy to visit you to give a demonstration and to explain the operation to you. This can also be done in the evenings at, for example, a meeting of the entrepreneurs or shopkeepers association. If you want to test the system yourself, a trial installation is one of the options.
