Although you are using good hearing protection, all risk is not ruled out. With the Firecom Smartman it is possible to always communicate via your two-way radio. With the Firecom Smartman it is possible to communicate and protect your ears.

This technique has been used for some time in the army. Communication and hearing protection are very important there. These things don't have to be mutually exclusive; They complement each other beautifully with the Firecom Smartman.

Technique

The sound carrier is not on the ears so that they can remain protected. The sound is guided through the hearing protection with ultrasonic vibrations. The band that runs behind the head ensures that the Smartman's speaker drivers press lightly against the jawbone. This light pressure is sufficient to transfer the vibrations from the speaker drivers to the jawbone. The jawbone ensures that the sound arrives at the ear canal: after all, sound is vibration.

The Smartman works on the basis of Bluetooth and therefore only works with the following radios:
